Anno 1800 release date has been announced ahead of Gamescom 2018.

It was this time last year that the latest instalment of the Anno franchise, Anno 1800, was first announced. Today, Ubisoft released a new trailer for the city-builder which revealed the game’s release date. Anno 1800 will be released on the 26th February 2019, later than the initial release target of Q4 2018. The game will be released on PC.

As you can probably tell from the title, Anno 1800 takes the series back to the past, after the last two games, Anno 2070 and Anno 2205 where set in the future. Anno 1800 takes place at the beginning of the 19th century, the beginning of the industrial revolution. The last game, Anno 2205, was meet with a mixed reception, largely due to it missing many traditional features. It seems that developers Blue Byte have listened and have promised to bring back many features. Anno 1800 will have a story campaign and will retain it’s “multi-session” gameplay, first introduced in it’s predecessor. Unlike it’s predecessor however, Anno 1800 will see the return of a sandbox mode and multiplayer. We’ll also see the return of randomly generated maps, AI opponents and trading.

If that’s not enough for fans, Blue Byte promises to showcase even more features at Gamescom, in Cologne Germany this week. Impressively, the game has been nominated for three Gamescom Awards this year, but will it take away any trophies?

Anno 1800 will have a payable demo in the Ubisoft area at Gamescom 2018, be sure to give it a try!
