All the winners of the 2019 GDC Awards.
The winners of the 2019 GDC Awards have been announced, after the nominees were revealed back in January.
Once again, God of War adds another Game of the Year award to it’s collection. However, God of War failed to take home the most awards of the evening, despite having six nominations. Amazingly, it was mobile game Florence that won the most awards winning Best Mobile Game, and Best Debut. Florence was also the only game to win multiple awards.
Despite having the most nominations (seven), Red Dead Redemption 2 only managed to earn itself one award for Best Technology. Sadly, Spider-Man was once again shunned of any awards, despite having six nominations.
Return of the Obra Dinn, which had the most nominations on the indie front, bagged the Best Narrative award. However, Return of the Obra Dinn was not the only indie game to win an award. Interestingly, Into the Breach took the award for Best Design, whilst GRIS won the award for Best Visual Art. VR sensation Beat Saber won the award for, as you might have guessed, Best VR/AR Game.
The full list of winners of the 2019 GDC Awards are as follows:
