If you watched Devolver Digital’s debut E3 press conference last year, you’ll know that it was unconventional to say the least. This year’s press conference was no different in that respect, as host Nina Struthers returns with her overly aggressive, foul mouthed style with no shortage of skits and spoofs. The conference poked fun of battle royale, loot boxes, cryptocurreny, miniture classic consoles and more. Keeping in part with EOB’s E3 2018 series of articles, this article will focus on the more serious announcements made by Devolver Digital, and yes there were actually a few this year.

Metal Wolf Chaos is being re-released as Metal Wolf Chaos XD

FromSoftware’s cult hit, originally released on Xbox in Japan back in 2004, is being re-released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One as Metal Wolf Chaos XD.  The re-release will feature “upgraded visual fidelity, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system and 4K + 16:9 support”. A first person mech shooter where the player assumes the role of the US president, where you battle against the vice president for control of the country.

Devolver Digital’s press conference closed with a skit in where host Nina is brutally murdered by the man who lost his arm in last year’s conference. Nina is then brought back to life by being repaired and upgraded with a tease of her return next year. I guess we’ll have to wait until next year’s conference to see what upgraded Nina looks like.
