All game releases for August 2018.

Summer is usually a slow time for game releases and 2018 has been no exception. However, as we head into the tail end of the summer, August is looking rather busy for game releases. Before we look at all the game releases for August 2018, let’s first take a look at some of the highlights:

Dead Cells

PC, PS4, XBox One, Switch | Motion Twin | 7th August 2018

Blending elements of rouge-lite and metroidvania games with a combat system that has been compared to the Dark Souls series. Dead Cells has garnered many positive reviews whilst in Steam early access for the last year, it’s full release is almost here.

Overcooked! 2

PC, PS4, XBox One, Switch | Ghost Town Games | 7th August 2018

The wacky cooking simulation returns, with even more chaotic levels and the addition of online co-op. If it’s anywhere near as good as it’s predecessor, this will be a must have party game.

Monster Hunter: World

PC | Capcom | 9th August 2018

The first Monster Hunter game to grace home consoles in January this year to critical acclaim, now it’s finally coming to PC. With Autumn being the initial release window, it’s coming sooner that expected.

We Happy Few

PC, PS4, XBox One | Compulsion Games | 10th August 2018

Since being in early access for the last 2 years, We Happy Few has certainly encountered a good few hurdles. Despite this, it has managed to maintain a mostly positive reception and will feature the much anticipated story mode upon it’s full release.

Madden NFL 19

PC, PS4, XBox One | EA Tiburon | 10th August 2018

Long running American football game franchise returns and makes it’s way to PC for the first time in over 10 years.

Guacamelee! 2

PC, PS4 | DrinkBox Studios | 21st August 2018

One of 2018’s games that I feel deserves more attention, a metroidvania inspired action-platformer where you play as a Mexican wrestler. After months of teases, a release date has finally been announced.

Two Point Hospital

PC | Two Point Studios | 30th August 2018

Ever wanted a spiritual successor to 1997’s Theme Hospital? Well the wait is almost over!
