The final month of 2018 is just around the corner, and with it comes the final game releases of 2018. December isn’t usually a busy period for game releases, and this year is no exception. However, that doesn’t mean that there are no games to look forward to. Here are all the notable game releases for December 2018. As usual, we’ll take a look at the highlights first:
Just Cause 4

Fourth game in the open-world action-adventure franchise. Protagonist Rico Rodriquez returns to take on Black Hand, the world’s most powerful private army. New features include extreme weather effects, new physics, and AI improvements.
Override: Mech City Brawl
PC, PS4, Xbox One | The Balance Inc | 4th December, 2018 | Link
Fighting game where players take control of giant mechs. Interestingly, the 3D arenas are modelled after real world cities and countries including Tokyo, Egypt, San Francisco, and Mexico. Features game modes such as a story campaign, versus, and co-op. Will also feature mech customisations.
Don’t Starve: Hamlet

The third expansion for survival game Don’t Starve. Currently in Early Access, the expansion will fully release in December. Lose yourself in a lost town of aristocratic Pigmen within a foreboding tropical jungle. We hope to have a review of this soon. So stay tuned.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Switch | Bandai Namco Studios, Sora Ltd | 7th December, 2018 | Link
Nintendo’s crossover fighting game franchise makes its debut on the Switch. As expected, the game will feature the traditional style of gameplay it’s known for. Impressively, the game will include every playable character from previous Smash Bros. titles, as well as some newcomers. As well as the return of classic game modes, new game modes include Smashdown, Squad Strike, and Tournament.

Multiplayer first-person tactical shooter, and sequel to Insurgency. Like it’s predecessor, Insurgency: Sandstorm intends to have a high level of realism. New features include vehicles and improved graphics. Also coming to consoles sometime in 2019.
