All notable game releases for January 2019.

It’s a new year, and along with that comes a plethora of new games to look forward to. January isn’t usually a busy period for game releases as it comes just after the holidays. However, there’s actually quite a lot of releases to look forward to this year. So let’s get right to it. Here are all the notable game releases for January 2019. We’ll take a look at the highlights first:

My Time at Portia

PC | Pathea Games | 15th January, 2019 | Link

After a year in Steam Early Access, My Time at Portia will fully release this month, (and will also release on Epic Games Store). Simulation RPG  where you start a new life in the town of Portia, in a post-apocalyptic setting. Coming to consoles in spring 2019.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

The latest entry in the combat flight simulator. Originally set to be released back in 2017, Ace Combat 7 will finally be released on consoles this month. A PC release will follow 2 weeks later (for some reason). The game will feature special missions in VR, which will be exclusive to the PSVR for one year.

Slay the Spire

Rougelike card game Slay the Spire will fully release on Steam this month, after being in Early Access since November 2017. Coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2

PC | Tindalos Interactive | 24th January, 2019 | Link

Sequel to the real-time strategy adaptation of the Games Workshop’s tabletop game. Portraying epic space battles in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Featuring all 12 factions from tabletop game, and 3 campaigns.

Resident Evil 2

PC, PS4, Xbox One | Capcom | 25th January, 2019 | Link

Highly anticipated remake of the 1998 survival horror classic. The remake will use an “over-the-shoulder” third person perspective similar to Resident Evil 4. A demo of the remake is now available to play on all platforms for free until the 31st January. So you can try before you buy.

Kingdom Hearts III

PS4, Xbox One | Square Enix | 29th January, 2019 | Link

Long awaited sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, (and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga). Sora returns as the game’s protagonist, and is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and Riku. The game will feature many other Disney characters, both new and returning.
