The best of the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom 2018.

This year’s Gamescom may have been dominated by upcoming AAA titles but it’s still home to one of the world’s largest indie exhibitions. Here are the best games from the Indie Arena Booth from Gamescom 2018.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin

Old-school beat ’em up, where you play as a Chinese fisherman Wei Cheng, avenging the deaths of your friends and family. Coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch Winter 2019.

A Fisherman’s Tale

Puzzle/escape room VR game where you play as a fisherman puppet. Coming to PSVR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality.

Deliver Us To The Moon – Fortuna

After all of Earth’s resources have been exhausted, a new colony on the moon is established to secure more energy. Until one day, Earth losses all communications with the moon base. Play as a lone astronaut, sent to the moon to investigate and save humanity. Coming to PC on 28th September 2018.

FAR: Lone Sails

Control a large vehicle in order to explore a desolate, post-apocalyptic world. Solve puzzles to overcome environmental hazards. Be sure to check out my preview of FAR: Lone Sails. Out now on PC, coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.


A garbage town builder survival game set afloat in the ocean. Gather resources from the ocean in order to grow your town and survive in a colourful, but post-apocalyptic world. Coming to Steam Early Access in 2019.

Good Company

Single player and co-op business simulation game where you build, grow and manage your robot manufacturing empire. Coming to PC in late 2018.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill

Race, jump and slide on your bike down a mountain, negotiating obstacles such as forests, rocks and rivers. Coming to PC in 2019.

Macrotis: A Mother’s Journey

Colourful 2.5D puzzle-platformer where you play as Mother Bilby, trying to find your lost children after you got separated from them by a flood. Coming to PC Autumn 2018.

My Memory of Us

Adventure game that reminisces the friendship of a boy and a girl during tough times. Narrated by the legendary Sir Patrick Stewart. Releasing on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch on 9th October 2018.

Neo Cab

First revealed at the PC Gaming Show, at E3 earlier this year. An “emotional survival” game where you play as the last human driver in the AI dominated world of Los Ojos. You’ll need to choose your passengers and words wisely, whilst balancing your income, ratings, and mental health. Coming to PC, release TBA.

Nova Nukers

Multiplayer brawler where you battle your opponents with bombastic weapons on destructible planets. Out now on PC, coming soon to PS4 and Xbox One.

Swords and Soldiers II Shawarmageddon

Re-release of side-scrolling RTS, where you command armies of Vikings, Demons and Persians. Coming to PC and PS4 Fall 2018.

The Sojourn

Beautiful first-person puzzle game, where you must solve puzzles through traversing parallel words of light and darkness. Coming to PC in 2019.

Witch It!

Multiplayer hide & seek game, where you team up to play Hunters vs. Witches. Witches hide my mimicking props, Hunters hunt down suspicious props. Currently in Steam Early Access, full release planned for late 2018 / early 2019.
