All the big announcements from Inside Xbox at Gamescom 2018.
Today, Microsoft streamed an episode of their show, Inside Xbox, at their booth at Gamescom in Cologne Germany. The show included more details of games coming to Xbox over the next year, new Xbox One accessories and more. Here are the biggest announcements from the show.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds 1.0 releases 4th September 2018.
PUBG will graduate from Xbox Preview and fully release on 4th September 2018, following it’s initial release on 12th December 2017. PUBG Corp made it clear that development for the incredibly popular battle royale game will continue well beyond it’s 1.0 release. To coincide with the games full release, Xbox revealed a limited edition PUGB controller with unique aesthetics.
Xbox Design Lab – More customisations
Xbox Design Lab, which allows players to create their own custom Xbox controllers, is adding more customisations options. The most notable new options include two colour schemes; the camouflage-style Camo and Shadow, which fades to black.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps – New Gameplay Mode
Highly anticipated sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, is getting a new gameplay mode, it’s called Spirit Trials. Spirits Trials are areas, which can be found throughout the game’s world, where you race against the clock for the fastest times. Players will also be able to compete against friends and earn in-game rewards for good results. No release date was announced, but Ori and the Will of the Wisps is expected to release sometime in 2019.
Metro Exodus – New Gameplay Trailer
Xbox revealed a new gameplay trailer for Metro Exodus, showing off new environments and enemies for players to take on. Metro Exodus, the third instalment of the franchise, releases 22th February 2019.
Devil May Cry 5 – Release Date Announced, 8th March 2019.
Microsoft first announced Devil May Cry 5 at their E3 press conference earlier this year, much to the delight of long-time fans. A new trailer now confirms a release date for the new game. The new trailer shows off more of the game’s combat system, with Nero battling new enemies in new environments.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 – Release Date Announced, 15th March 2019.
Although the gameplay trailer didn’t really reveal much gameplay, the trailer does confirm a release date for the Division 2.
Forza Horizon 4 – Team Adventure, a new competitive multiplayer mode.
Forza Horizon 4 was another title that was first announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference earlier this year. Xbox introduced a new competitive multiplayer mode named Team Adventure. Team Adventure will allow players to team up and take on races, special sessions and Freeform rushes. Forza Horizon 4 will also have dedicated Xbox bundles and will release 4th October 2018.
