I give you my first impressions of new anime TV show Re:Creators.
Produced: Aniplex, Magic Capsule, Shogakukan, ABC Animation
From studio TROYCA
I had been looking over anime that I had wanted to watch recently and came across an anime named Re:Creators. So, I put my feet up and began watching. The story stars Souta Mizushino, a high school student in Japan aspiring to be a writer and illustrator of his own light novel (Japanese novels that are 50,000 words and printed in A6 aimed at young adults).
One day while watching anime for inspiration, Souta is transported temporarily into the fierce fight taking place. When he returns, he finds that he is no longer alone and the head strong protagonist, Celestia Yupitilia of the anime was brought back with him. From there the world is thrown into chaos as characters from all forms of fiction begin turning up in the real world. They must figure out who the Military Uniform Princess is and what mysteries she is hiding and more importantly how she is involved with the characters that are becoming real.
The action of the series is fast paced and well-choreographed, accompanied by the epic score of composer Hiroyuki Sawano (famous for his work in Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress). I couldn’t help but be hooked into the story, it starts of slowly with Souta narrating the story introducing himself and his “strange, unbelievable story” which serves as the framework for the main plot. As we are given a first-hand account of the events of the anime from his point of view. For most of the first episode, Celestia is fighting the Military Uniform Princess as she carries Souta with her. The Military Uniform Princess Taunts her several times dropping hints about her plans and the “truth” hidden from Celestia.
The animation is beautifully rendered throughout and I found myself wanting more. If you love action, sci-fi and anime there are worse shows you could be watching than this masterpiece of animation and storytelling.
